About

For me, its not just about growing my own healthy nutrient dense organic food, it is about feeling safe, that we always have food to eat.

Our family always had a veggie garden.  We lived a long way from towns with supermarkets, and we had to plan our food resources really well to ensure we all had enough food to last between shopping trips.

You only realise when you are older, how wonderful it is to not worry about whether you can cook a meal for your family, because you always have something you can harvest and prepare a simple meal with.

Today, life is very different. Growing food is not “one home, one garden” anymore.

I have been growing my own organic vegetables for over 18 years, ever since I had a garden I could grow it myself.

BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE A BIG GARDEN TO GROW YOUR OWN FOOD.   You can grow food in so many different ways.

GROWING TOGETHER

Gardening can also be an opportunity to grow communities and form friendships, share knowledge, seeds, plants and enjoy the outdoors.  Community Gardens were so important during hard times in the 1900’s and sustained families who were hit by hard times, wars, unemployment and economic disasters.
